WHAT IS THE ORIGIN OF ATHANOR ENGINEERING?

We created ATHANOR Engineering in 2016 after we left the French Navy in order to give a commercial follow-up to the innovations we had conceived and developed with the support of the Defence Innovation Agency (at the time the “Mission pour l’Innovation Participative”) during our last years in the French Navy. The cornerstone of these innovations is a Warship-type AIS transponder specifically designed for the needs of the French Navy. Called AIS/X, this equipment is being deployed on all surface ships and nuclear attack submarines of the Navy.

WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTHS?

ATHANOR Engineering bases its activity on our expertise in the aero-naval environment and our know-how as innovators. We propose technical solutions that offer a breakthrough in terms of the “added value to cost of ownership” ratio. To achieve this, we lead a network of engineers and technicians with skills in systems engineering, electronics, radio frequency and computer architecture. ATHANOR is a member of the Mediterranean Sea Cluster, GICAN and System Factory.

WHAT ARE YOUR INNOVATIONS ABOUT?

In the field of maritime security, ATHANOR Engineering has developed the AIS/X, the only secure AIS designed in France, which is now used on all French Navy vessels. In addition, ATHANOR develops maritime surveillance solutions, for maritime security purposes, integrating behavioural analysis algorithms. Thus, ATHANOR has developed the ENDOUME demsontrator, dedicated to maritime surveillance and coordination of means in the area for the Olympic Games of 2024 and has been selected by the European Commission in the framework of a HORIZON EUROPE project.
